Notes
The main project of Matthew Barnes, we’ve been after a Forest Swords FACT mix for some time: in fact, we first asked after his first album Dagger Paths, a mesmerising blend of doom metal, Ennio Morricone and r’n'b, claimed the #1 spot on FACT’s best albums of 2011. The years since Dagger Paths have seen Forest Swords become a part of the Tri Angle stable, releasing his second album for the label Engravings, while also collaborating with How to Dress Well, Otto Baerst and more.

If you’ve followed Forest Swords’ music then the content of his FACT mix won’t surprise you: across one hour at 45 minutes, he reiterates his love for hip-hop and r’n'b (Jeremih, Travi$ Scott, Janet Jackson), gloomy long-form compositions (Muslimgauze, Raime) and, well, just good music (Hercules & Love Affair is a particularly fun curveball). Tri Angle stans can also rejoice: tucked away at the end you’ll find a track by the label’s new signing Boothroyd.

Forest Swords in the mix – it was worth the wait.
